Kayo Domination!
This years NRL season is now averaging 374K on Fox & Kayo ; up +14% compared with last.
The AFL is also continuing to deliver strong results for Fox Footy with this years season currently averaging 243K; up +17% on 2019 (Foxtel and Kayo).
The difference between the two codes averages is 131 in favour of the NRL. Given that the NRL dominate on Fox by about 60k therefore there Kayo dominance woud be around 70k Wow!
I know LOL will be very interested in these results, though i'm sure he will have some excuse - no matter how lame

TV Blackbox can reveal this year’s NRL Magic Round with all eight matches being played in Brisbane, achieved an average audience of 386K across the combined platforms of Foxtel and Kayo.
It would seem LOL is not the only one - All AFL folks make excuses for the game https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/kay ... 57soq.html quiet sad really

Re: Kayo Domination!
According to a 2019 article, the AFL was regularly rating more on Kayo than the NRL. This new article suggests they've gone up another 17%
Not sure where the downside is

Re: Kayo Domination!
Fox: NRL up by 60k
Kayo: NRL up by 70k
Wheres the downside
on those numbers you will win very few if any games.
Try reading the article. The AFL are up 17% on 2019 whereas the NRL are up 14% on last year(2020 was last year)
Any chance of reproducing that imaginary article?

Re: Kayo Domination!
Of course our average is lower, we have concurrent games you moron. That doesn't reflect what our kayo ratings are like for isolated games like FN, same as for Fox.pussycat Mark 11 wrote: ↑Tue May 18, 2021 2:56 pmFox: NRL up by 60k

How many years will it take for you to understand 1. We beat you in almost every game where FTA is national, and 2. Concurrent games halve ratings for Fox and Kayo.

How many years will it take for you to understand 1. Ratings don't care about "concurrent" or "isolation" or the rest of your lame excuses. 2. If you don't like the broadcast arrangements get Gilty to change it. Simple!!! 3. Please stop whinging about this. It is really unbecoming!!!

Re: Kayo Domination!
Who is ratings? Why don't they care? Are they an individual or company?
You may want to include ratings without any context but in the real world these considerations are very relevant. Eg: 1mil over 2 hrs is worth less to a network than 1mil over 3hrs.

It was less than a week ago you were telling anyone that would listen that Kayo numbers were as good or better than the NRL ...................' AFL numbers are down on Fox because people are signing up for kayo
Last year you had nearly all games shown in isolation (many shown in prime time) and your audience was in lock down and your rating were lucky if they increased by 25k . By having FTA matches shown into there home states you are making up for any losses on Fox 10 fold. So When are you going to stop using this pathetic excuse?
Any luck finding that 2019 report?

Re: Kayo Domination!
Averages don't reflect the AFLs kayo audience because most of their games overlap. Same for their Fox ratings.pussycat Mark 11 wrote: ↑Tue May 18, 2021 6:35 pmNlolRL wrote: ↑Tue May 18, 2021 3:59 pmOf course our average is lower, we have concurrent games you moron. Re: Kayo Domination!
I don’t or rarely comment on ratings, for a number of reasons.
Some of the figures given are estimates, conjecture or samples, maybe a good guide, but maybe not, and for some of the forum posters to say we won Kayo or we won streaming or fta, to me misses the point.
Isn’t the point the total number who watch which game or code over all broadcast methods?
Perhaps someone could do a spreadsheet that shows the figures, separately for FTA, Fox sports, Kayo and the other streaming methods for each game and each round?
Not me because:
There are lies, damn lies and ratings....
Come 2025, the landscape will change greatly....
And the 2 big codes future is assured. (Perhaps not each club, but it is looking better)
The other 2 are in diabolicals.

Re: Kayo Domination!
This is largely correct pal. Well done!!! A few points: RL folk here have always said the TOTAL over each game, over the year is the most relevant number. That is after a similar number of comparable games are taken into account.Quolls2019 wrote: ↑Thu May 20, 2021 6:34 pmI don’t or rarely comment on ratings, for a number of reasons.

It's the fumbling folk who carry on and on and on about winning FTA or winning Friday nights. Let's hope they read your post and come to their senses.
Wookie used to do spreadsheets of all ratings (including NZ for RL) but from memory was threatened with legal action by the ratings organisations and was told to stop doing it. So this can no longer be done & published.
And I agree the 2 big codes future is assured. Rugby is lucky ch9 bailed 'em out with their broadcast deal & may make a comeback on the back of hosting a World Cup. Soccer is in real trouble.

Re: Kayo Domination!
Now - I'm just asking - don't get all uppity and defensive or get abusive or deflect to something unrelated - it's just a simple question and I look for is a civil simple response.
Here goes:
Isn't the comparison with Friday night and now Thursday night so like for like can be compared? As the other comparisons are somewhat compromised for one reason or another? That is one home and away game head to head with another?
