Re: Afl Saturday arvo/evenin SNORE FESTIVAL
Different games nlol, I’m not sure you got the memo but rugby league is a different game enjoyed for different reasons that Afl. A tight defensive contest with a try a piece can be fantastic viewing in the nrl. I’m sorry you take such a superficial stance on ‘scoring’ being the be all and end all in sports.
So it’s only a few hours to go folks. I’m really worried about the possibility a few of today’s Afl games are over by half time. Hopefully not but... I have this awful feeling in me guts.

Never realised quite how much hate there was for AFL from our Northern friends.

Steve Steven Steve . You have missed the point as badly as an unco fumbler misses the giant sticks .
See where KE said a TIGHT game ,
That's the whole point .
IN RL you can have a 10-8 final score . Atight defensive game .
But it's close .
You can also have a very open high scoring game ..36-32
It's still close . What don't you get about the games being basically over at Half time in AFL .
No hope of coming Back .
It's a snorefest because one team dominates so Much.

Re: Afl Saturday arvo/evenin SNORE FESTIVAL
Crap, crappy, crapper.
Addressing the scoring with you lot seems to be basically null and void. I've seen you go round and round your own fishbowl, simply failing to understand yourselves that the 2 games are indeed different.
Even in an ordinary game like last night, there were 7 goals in a qtr to the Pies and 5 to a surging Power.
10-8 is a lovely tight game, terrific. Absolutely needed to make a slow and dull game worth watching.
Yet an AFL game with 4 goals in it with a quarter or so to go is instantly a fizzer to you, because more often than not the team with the lead will still win.
A fan knows this game is not all over.

Re: Afl Saturday arvo/evenin SNORE FESTIVAL
Yes thanks cats Steve, that was a wonderful comedic monologue. I will address one point you made tho. You mentioned that an Afl game with four goals in it is instantly a fizzer to us. I think you need to add in that the journos who write up the Afl match report think the same, as does the live online commentator for the Afl app.
Can you just edit to include those folk in with us?
Thanks bro
With twenty minutes to go “too little too late for port” and then the pies went on to pile a few more goals on top in the last twenty. FIZZER!!!

Err you didnt get the memo. A game of AFL can have a one sided score but still be very exciting.King-Eliagh wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2019 11:11 amDifferent games nlol, I’m not sure you got the memo but rugby league is a different game enjoyed for different reasons that Afl. The nrl might have more games in contention late in the game but the penalty is many games are low scoring and dull.
Fans vote with their money, attendance and tv remote. Last nights afl game was well ahead of the nrls "thriller".

Re: Afl Saturday arvo/evenin SNORE FESTIVAL
Meanwhile I’m enjoying viewing a slugfest between the swans and brissie. Fourth quarter about to start and the game is in the balance. Basically, so far in the Afl this weekend, it’s a real toss of the coin if ur gunna get ur money’s or times worth viewing the match. It’s fifty fifty FIZZERS and SNOREFESTS so far.
Anyway I’ve lucked out this eve, common the swannies!

Re: Afl Saturday arvo/evenin SNORE FESTIVAL
I’m sorry nlol, has the nrl setup a ‘state of the game commisssion’ with the key objective to achieve ‘equalisation’ in the competition?
Sorry nlol, but ummm hate to break the news to ya, but one comps got the real problem here...and it ain’t the nrl

Re: Afl Saturday arvo/evenin SNORE FESTIVAL
one comp has 2 clubs outside it's heartland, the AFL has 4. If the NRL ever attempt to expand beyond the east coast they may need to consider equalisation tooKing-Eliagh wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2019 9:34 pmI’m sorry nlol, has the nrl setup a ‘state of the game commisssion’ with the key objective to achieve ‘equalisation’ in the competition?

And Sorry I didn’t quite hear you too well nlol. Did you say no, the nrl haven’t needed to setup a commission with a key objective to achieve equalisation?
