As I posted before

“I’m not too sure why a roofed stadium is part of the deal, but it certainly appear that it is.‬
‪Long term it will be of benefit to Hobart, but is it necessary?‬
‪Been cited that weather is a concern but the AFL play games there now without issue and Hobart has an average of 87 rainy days per year, but Melbourne has an average of 139 rainy days, with more games played at the MCG with no roof.‬
‪Maybe better to upgrade both Tazzie ovals in the short term.‬
‪If the roofed Stadium is an absolute requirement should be a least 30,000.‬
‪That being said, it would be a very short term government, that denies Tasmania an AFL team.‬
‬”

And having said that, the AFl is now locked in, even though they say they are not.
And that is why it will happen.
Next question is who is next?

Who is next - sounds like a new thread :)

The mascot looks professional at least. More like a NRL or NFL style one.

A lot of the AFL team logo's look very shit. This is probably one of the best.

Not too keen on the hair coming out of the ears, but otherwise ok, will need a simplified (additional) one eventually.

What do AFL supporters think of the devils introduction?
I think they will be immensely popular.

I am not too sure that the introduction of the GWS has had as much impact as the Tazzy Devils will.
Pretty sure GWS did not influence an election, the Devils certainly will.

Well looks like the liberals will form a minority government - so very tenuous situation and no mandate for the stadium - although a contract is signed so….,

Greens wouldn’t do a deal with Libs I would think - but they may with labour and a few independent?

It would be about the only way they could get a deal done..support for labor was down too.
Might be who the independents are. the JLN are against the stadium…and “don’t feel the love” from the liberals.

tassie will be an instant success, widly popular within the football communities..
should be good numbers on another levels all round..
BIG town support and good numbers at venues around Australia.

GWS however had no impact  that was a disaster from the word go..

I wouldn’t call it a disaster.
I conundrum, a paradox, a disappointment.
Great on the field, great at recruiting and generally keeping the people they recruit.
Some very rich fans and lots of sponsors.
Very little, and I mean very little local support.
I would transfer the games they play in canberra to blacktown and try and gain the locals.
Their future may be as a boutique side, but they are not going anywhere. (I mean moving not future)

yeah you are correct,

behind the giants, management club HQ etc pretty well run..
though i put this down to AFL giving them leg ups, here there and everywhere...
academies, pumping money into this joint like there is no tomorrow..
flooding in like there is unlimited supply...
they were setup beautifully..

big problem is you cannot buy fans.

(they are def not going anywhere)
I would transfer them to ACT and have a permanent AFL SIDE> 500k POPULATION in Canberra it self plus rest of ACT
knowing the AFL government would refurb or build a stadium for them.

Good chance canberra will have its own side, one deterrent would be the current canberra agreement with GWS.

Canberra Team 20

That is easy, GWS fulltime in Sydney
Government would pull support of deal in an instant
