Should be a cracker of a game.
Rugby League actually has 11 more first grade teams than AFL.
29 first grade clubs worldwide in 4 countries.

Something AFL will never ever achieve as a sport.
So this really is the best of the best.

The UK has some good sides, with Penrith losing to St Helens last year.

Sellout crowd 44,000

dunno where you got the crowd figure from

it was 25,000 , but was sold out 6 weeks ago so probably would have got 44K if the ground was bigger

Wigans 5th WCC win .. Penriths 4th attempt to win one failing... again ( 2nd loss to Wigan)
English teams now winning the WCC 19 times & Australian teams 18 times

amazing

Yes you are right. I made a mistake with the crowd. Deleted the incorrect figure.

Was a cracking game.

Phil Gould once said the superleague are like a reserve grade to the NRL. Yet two of their teams have beaten one of the NRLs best ever teams.

watched the entire replay

hmmm
some home town reffing certainly assisted Wigan , but the poms were gritty as hell .. they had no ball & no territory with the panthers enjoying enough possession to win 2 games , but they looked rusty & klunky , that being their one & only hitout since the GF last year.
so i guess the best team won
