interesting. Wonder if Hardwick comes in - and brings Dustin Martin with him? Martin would get a big pay packet as an Ambassador from the AFL that would not be part of the salary cap. I suspect there could be something to this.

They would be better off:
Getting someone a bit younger than Martin. Martin, who, although is still playing well, is getting towards the end of his career , and seems to be getting injured frequently. They have a number of young locals coming in next year, promote them as ambassadors.
Not getting Hardwick. A coach who resigns halfway through a season because he is tired, burnt out, lost his passion or whatever else was stated, and then says he wants to be a coach 3 weeks later is not a good bet.
An experienced coach, but where from, and they all seem to get sacked after a while.
Will all be interesting.
Still say they will make the finals in a couple of years.

Yeah - I see your point.
Ratten? He would be the most experienced however seems to have been shafted from a couple of clubs so thinking something isn't right there. Players seem to love him, however as we have seen with Dew, that is not enough - and need to have results. Then you have to ask - do they go with experience at Senior level - look at McCrea and what he is doing? shaken up the league - now he is loved by his players - easy going - and resected - but also getting results - so if someone like that is around? Mccrea learnt his craft under Hardwick - so maybe someone who has assisted coached under him may be a good way to go - of course, the lineage goes back to Mathews with McCrea also - and he often quotes Mathews as to how he did things. One thing for sure, it is a hard business getting the right coach - but Gold Coast certainly need to get it right. They have 3 awesome academy picks coming through next year - one I feel will make King in his current form (and long lasting attitude) redundant. We will all watch this space I guess.
We could possibly move this portion of the discussion to the AFL thread rather than fight club as will have the usual nuff nuffs coming in with their mindless dribble otherwise - they will probably infect that space as well but could I ask Mods to open up a new thread in there and move this? Or I can copy and past this one to start it off?

A poor crowd for the Titans too.
I would think both clubs are disappointed.
