Somehow I don't think they'll have that 18th club by then.
how long do you think the NRL will have a BYE for lol

fans clubs and networks already do not like it, and DOLPHINS have not even played a game yet.

And who misses out on the magic weekend….they’ll be happy.
Permanent dolphins bye?
I remember them saying that the north Brisbane bids were good and it was a tough decision..
Maybe 2 sides in at once….maybe they’re looking further afield than brisbane….
A team in perth….or another in New Zealand or
Another in Melbourne.

I actually think it's more likely they'll fall back to 16 clubs to be honest. The NRL has the same problem in Sydney that the AFL has in Melbourne. Too many clubs.

yep that is a good question, it is a money spinner for the NRL "magic round"
There a rumours who ever gets the wooden spoon previous year, misses out.

The other Brisbane Bid (the Brisbane Tigers Club) is an excellent run club. with big asset rich and grounds and club
they are also bigger than the Broncos in Asset and Money.
(they could easily move into the NRL)

NRL went with Dolphins as they would control the North and Sunshine Coast.

Speculation QLD would have 5 teams in time
But i would say the NRL will go with either
NZ 2 or Perth..

even if this was correct..

the teams in sydney who have been in the headlines of late would be.

Manly >> (they control the north of sydney) Northern beaches and are owned by the Penn Family.
West Tigers.. are majority owned by West Leagues (ashfield) and are doing very well financially. (they have also just built 75mill team HQ
Cronulla Sharks... Grounds are being upgraded and leagues club under development. are also now have a wealth of money..

(there is no club in Sydney now that is in financial trouble.. they are all doing solid

(AFL in Melbourne is different.)

Finances aren't the issue. Membership is the issue. If clubs aren't pulling crowds that's a problem. Leagues clubs are actually irrelevant - heck Balmain Leagues is still doing okay. Newtown still have a leagues club too (I didn't check Wollongong or North Sydney).

The finances of the Melbourne AFL clubs aren't too bad considering. Again - it's membership that's the issue.

Memberships are low across the board in Sydney.
with Parra and Souths the stand out's

crowds across Cronulla and Manly and Roosters are very similar

Tigers Dragons Canterbury Souths Parra are ahead of the pack

Balmain Leagues has not been open in years lol (12 YEARS )
(this could change however)

Umm pal, the Balmain leagues club closed years ago. The Newtown leagues club was sold in 1988. Norths leagues is still going and the Illawarra area has many leagues clubs that support local clubs and communities.

And membership is NOT the issue pal. You fumblers always make the mistake of thinking what is good for fumbling is good for everything else. It ain't. Memberships are handy. But they're not the issue. In fact there is no issue. And of course Leagues clubs are totally relevant. All the clubs are financially strong with various revenue streams including leagues clubs.

You dills got caught out for years by comparing AFL club financials V NRL's. They were different. The NRL's football clubs and leagues clubs were reported separately. Your mobs weren't. That is now changing and the true picture is emerging.

Leagues Clubs are a powerful thing for Rugby League and the community.

Shows just how clueless the fumblers are
AFL went down the membership route ages ago
RL went down a different Rd
Memberships of the leagues club attached to the Footy club were encouraged.
Not better or worse
Just different
& lol Balmain .. shows that he makes it up lol lies a lot

Memberships contribute a hell of a lot of money to AFL club coffers. And it must be good for everyone, because the NRL has pushed club memberships since the ARLC was formed.

Nothing has actually changed. The nature of the reporting is the same. Its just [eople look a little deeper at the figures these days as more information is made readily accessible.

But I think the issue for some AFL fans is perception -mostly that AFL clubs are football clubs with pokies attached, where NRL clubs seem to be more Pokies with a club attached - and that shows in some of their accounting, if not outright ownership structures.

In both cases its utterly bullshit. Not every club has to be big, someone has to come last.

No NRL clubs are in financial trouble, and most AFL clubs in Melbourne arent either - the Saints still but given time they'll also get out.
