Some interesting rating figures from the finals this year.
Both codes using the same 9 game system.
Played at similar times except the NRL gf is in prime time.
The AFL had 2 weeks effected by the ashes the NRL, only one.
Yet, the AFL recorded more than 2mil more in the ratings, 14.335 to 12.241.
It does seem when the scheduling are on par with each other the AFL slaughter the NRL.
Despite all the loonies on here telling us otherwise.
I believe the head to head count during the year tells the same story.
The "world's least popular sport"!
Go figure....

Every year for the finals series the afl slaughters the nrlol!
Given that this year it featured a gws a team that apparently has no fans but a few paid ambassadors. Made it more amusing
The highlight of course is the grand finals featuring gws being played on a early Saturday after noon
And the nrlol grand final prime time in a Sunday evening featuring two well established sides!
And.... the afl still murder the nrlol

He is right though. In the finals where it is probably the fairest comparison ... the afl slaughter the nrl.
SoO is huge and we give you that. Without it RL would be I. Trouble. It is rl”s saving grace. When it comes to Nrl v Afl though afl kills nrl on almost every metric.

Can someone please explain to poor silly Freddo..........for 24,357th time..........RL is a 3 tiered sport. This is why AFL cannot compete with it in overall comparisons.
I can see I'm gonna have to get the 'ol goldfish bowl out again soon!!!!!!!!!! These fumblers are incredible......and not in a good way !!!!!!!! They've got memory retention of a pinhead lololololo!!!!!

Your competition is a very top heavy competition. Your best 8 teams only make the finals , your bottom teams aren't included (Similar to Friday nights actually.)
Because RL only goes 100min and AFL goes 150m you benefit in the ratings by many viewers switching over for the final 50min of your game.
when you have 4 massive games , Some less enthusiastic fans aren't draw to all matches.
RL is also a far more tribal game. Also the NRL don't get ratings from its 15th side.
Viewers go out to pubs/clubs of a night , the Northern states have thousands more.
All buts aside thought we get the most
, the highest
, and have a superior average

Pal, this is up there with your GF ticket promotion idiocy. It's a nothing, a zilch, a zero. It is totally pointless.
But I'll give ya the tip pal. RL has 3 tiers. SOO rate the highest on TV......of any show all year. Internationals usually rate around 1.5M against the Kiwis or Poms. The NRL's friday night games rate around 1M. Put 'em all together and RL is the most watched sport in Australia.
