There are lies, damn lies and then there are ratings.
Rugby league, Australias most popular game in some of North Eastern Australia.

Re: Rank the Codes in QLD
Yes, I’d like to know what sports trollbomber thinks are ahead of the NRL (if AFL is 5 they must be 4). Cricket, possible….croquet…..badminton…..netball….tiddlywinks…..???? Whinging about how no-one takes any notice of AFL in Qld but spend an enormous amount of time in doing so .
It is a bit hard to work out what sports he is talking about when he never supports his diatribes with facts, emojis are not support.

Re: Rank the Codes in QLD
Not only are there three teams (out of 4) left in the finals race in the VFL - both games on the weekend shown on 7 secondary channels. I watched on my AFL app - does the AFL App report ratings?

Re: Rank the Codes in QLD
AFL clearly number 1 in Port Douglas too by the way. Just read this on a tourist forum
Will there be anywhere that will show the NRL game on Friday night instead of the AFL match? Need to find somewhere to watch the game and I know AFL usually takes preference in Port.

A typical fumble ploy to infer that A place is AFL mad & not interested in NRL .
That’s what I replied to
I hope that clears it up for you

Re: Rank the Codes in QLD
No - I just posted what a person put on a Port Douglas Facebook page - noting the dominance of AFL in the area - there were responses such as the Central the AFL on the big screen upstairs and the NRL on in the beer garden and someone mentioned N17 bugger place would have it - to which the person who made the post responded that they had called but informed AFL was going to be on.Quolls2019 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 06, 2022 2:37 pmDid you also ask them are they showing AFL? My mate also just moved there (bastard) and is a big Union fan (all blacks) and follows the Storm - he is not a big fan of Aussie Rules but will watch it - and he stated to me the other day that he was at the central and had the AFL on one side and the Storm on the other side so could watch both - but stated that he has since learnt it is a very AFL town - to which I explained it is all the southerners from Melbourne and Adelaide living there.

Re: Rank the Codes in QLD
It wasn't a review lol - it was someone going on holidays asking a question ...... knowing how much it is an AFL town. I can't believe you actually messaged them lol. You got to chuckle. Thanks for the Quote Quolls as usually don't get to see this type of obsession lol. Made my day although is a little sad I guess. Poor bugger.Quolls2019 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 06, 2022 2:37 pmDid you also ask them are they showing AFL? Re: Rank the Codes in QLD
Just to clarify - from my experience you usually have no issue watching either NRL or AFL in Port Douglas. Like most pubs - the pubs there have several TVs and large ones too - Central has two big ones. People can like both lol. I am surprised N17 is only having AFL on as it is like a sports type bar from what I remember and usually have an array on - may be they meant the main TV with volume. Back up in November for a week - can't wait. Moving up in 2 years.
