Wouldn't a sixth game each week add money to the game? And the potential of money from a TV audience in North America, and everything else a Canadian connection could bring to the table must surely have to be worth something.

English people might be a bit strange but there not Victorian. Surely common sense will prevail in the end

I agree that 6th game would Seem logical, and was until the Wolfpack pulled out.
It seems that the consensus in SL is that they did not bring any value.
The argument is can they in the future.
Some in SL are clearly saying no.
However if they don’t get back in, and they will need to do some hard convincing to do so,
I would think the SL will promote a European based side.
And that is Without Covid which makes international competitions very risky.

The promotions that LiVolsi has put out are hardly convincing that he is in it for the good of the game.

I would love for there to be an arrangement to happen and say,

Ok Toronto Lets play you in the championship (Tier below super league)
lets let you build more. over the next 5 years etc

and the Super League to bring in Toulouse Olympique
This would build with Catalans in the south of France.

be an instant success

I would agree, that the best thing would be, Toronto returning to a lower division.
Also agree that current (and past and future) circumstances Are against them.
However LiVolsi has stated many times that he is only interested in Super League...his focus on promoting his products demonstrates that his interest in Super League is secondary.
If his potential ownership falls over, a joint, temporary ownership of the club, by CRFL and the RFL might be the way to go.
Expand SL to 14 with Toulouse, London and the next best side from the league (Or source another London, French or a Spanish side). Give a years grace on relegation And go fron there.

The northern “homeland” Teams are a big hurdle for Toronto, see below.

Tis been quiet on the news front, this is the latest, which is just a bit of a rehash.

Toronto asked to clarify their position
 MATTHEW SHAW  04/10/2020

Toronto Wolfpack received a string of questions from Super League last week that the competition wants assurances on as they continue to consider the club’s re-admission to Super League.
Toronto have to re-submit their application by 23 October after prospective owner Carlo LiVolsi asked for more time.
As a result, Super League have provided a string of questions they want covering in their revised submission. Most of those questions are understood to be supplementary financial questions as well as contingency plans should the Covid-19 pandemic continue to impact the competition next season.
LiVolsi is set to speak to the Super League clubs during the week after lodging the Wolfpack’s submission, at which point a final decision is expected on the club’s future.
In the meantime, the club’s players remain in the dark about their unpaid salaries.
Toronto players and staff have gone unpaid for four months and know they are only likely to see their salaries paid if the Wolfpack are allowed back into the competition.
LiVolsi has said he will pay all outstanding wages on the basis that his takeover is completed, which is subject to Toronto being readmitted.
Canadian Quinn Ngawati was the latest to leave the club lat week after signing for Rugby United New York next year.

Toronto Wolfpack will submit their revised application to Super League on Friday as the club prepares to learn its fate in the next fortnight.

After being given a four-week extension to work on their submission, the Wolfpack will lodge their application on Friday.

Prospective owner Carlo LiVolsi has had more input into the latest bid, which has been focused on financial forecasts and Covid contingency plans at the request of Super League.
