Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
There is a message to be heard from the ratings on the move to the secondary channel because of the coverage of the passing of the Queen. How many would make the move? What percentage? It should have a big say going forward. The unwillingness of fans to go to the secondary channel would have a clear...

Re: Streaming companies want to broadcast AFL
yeah ok. Contra is looking at around 75mill plus a year. I wonder how much the Telstra component is Again. The AFL said the cash component of the deal was "north of 4 billion". Contra wont be 75m a year. Yeah, but we're talking about Gilty and fumblehouse bummy. Blatant lying is their sto...

Not true on the oil - the Russian invasion of the Ukraine and the consequent sanctions caused that, cutting supplies. That's what pushed the prices up. The real issue is striking the balance needed to allow inflation to fall. Our Reserve Bank is trying to find that balance, but it's not easy because...

Re: Stockmarket
Pretty sure a crash is still on the horizon. Last I checked GDP in the US was woeful, and if there is a crash that's where it will start. They need GDP up and that means spending - but the Republicans won't allow it. I wish that would be played out at the mid terms in November so the Democrats can t...

Re: Rugby League continues to Lead The Way!
Well I have to admit that logically an extra game should bring in more money in a new TV deal. And the Dolphins will provide that extra game. Now whether or not is rises to the level of the AFL is another matter entirely. I say it won't for one simple reason. The NRL has zero presence in Adelaide an...

Re: Fight Club - Football Crowds
My guess is they have no faith in home team fans travelling. Of course they should play the finals at the SFS if a Sydney team is the home team. All the teams in the AFL that play their home games at Docklands normally play their final at the G no matter what. Even Geelong play their home final there.

Re: AFL announces 7 year, 4.5billion (642m pa) media deal
Not a chance of a relocation…..none And tassie were fairly recently considering rejoining the vfl as a stepping stone to the big league. They shouldn't. Like I said, it nearly destroyed the game before. They are NOT to go down that path. It would be suicide. It will be relocation - or no Tassie tea...

Re: AFL announces 7 year, 4.5billion (642m pa) media deal
With a VFL team in 23 or 24. Absolutely not. They tried that before and it nearly wrecked the game in Tassie. It's straight into the AFL - timing depends on the other clubs saying yes and also whether it's a 19th club or a relocation (I think it will be the latter because none of the clubs want a w...
